If you give even a casual look over the history of video game industry, the first thing you would probably notice is how the genre of arcade shooting games have been dominating the scene since the very early days of the industry. These games are relatively much simpler than all the sophisticated titles released now days, yet they feature all the necessary elements that could turn virtually any game into an highly addictive, and entertaining form of entertainment. Keeping in mind of this high popularity of the genre, the developers at Upper Groove Software has been dishing out quality arcade titles ever since the company’s initial days. Task Force 4.3.0 is one such offering from the company which has managed to attract some rather impressive feedback from the fanboys of the genre in its 3 odd years of existence.
Upon being launched, Task Force 4.3.0 opens up with a pretty decent looking interface in black. However, the overall layout, as well as the graphics quality is sort of way too similar with most other similar titles in the block. The score, as well as the other performance statistics are mentioned in the upper-left corner of the window, whereas the choice of weapon and other such important gameplay options are located towards the upper right-hand corner. There is not too much of a story or background provided to you - but the exciting gameplay you get to indulge yourself in compensates for that shortcoming pretty effectively. Apart from the 100 regular levels and 10 “boss levels” designed to extensively test your shooting skills in the game, Task Force 4.3.0 also brings along with it a few bonus levels.
All in all, Task Force can safely be termed as a deserving candidate to obtain four rating points on the scale of five.
